Object

The object of The Boys' Brigade shall be:

The Advancement of Christ's Kingdom among Members and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-Respect and all that tends towards a true Christian Character.

We hope to cultivate this Object as an everyday goal for the members in:

  • Helping Members to develop and grow in Christian character;

  • Training Members to become loyal and responsible citizens; and

  • Promoting physical fitness and develop leadership potential.

Motto

The motto of the Brigade is "Sure and Stedfast". It stems from the verse "Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul both sure and stedfast." (Hebrews 6:19) where the original Old English (King James Version) spelling of "Stedfast" has been retained.

Emblem

The emblem was originally an anchor, created by Sir William A. Smith himself. Like the motto it stems from the verse "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and stedfast" (Hebrews 6:19). 

Recognition

The Boys' Brigade is recognised by the Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (Ministry of Education) as a school's extra co-curricular activity. BB is also an affiliated member of Majlis Belia Malaysia, Council of Churches of Malaysia, National Evangelical Christian Fellowship and Kementerian Belia dan Sukan Malaysia.

The Boys' Brigade Prayer

Bless, O God, The Boys' Brigade, and give to it greater power to advance Thy Kingdom throughout the world. Grant in Thy mercy that every Member, past and present, may prove steadfast in their fight against evil, and true in their allegiance to Thee. Help us in times of temptation; make us strong where we are weak; give us courage in difficulty; faithfulness in duty; loyalty in friendship; and finally, by Thy mercy, bring us into Thine everlasting Kingdom, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
